It is my pleasure to inform you that we have come out with a book “I AM A SURVIVOR” published by Penguin Publishers in August 2017. This book has been presently translated into Telugu “నేను కాన్సర్ ని జయించాను”.

“నేను కాన్సర్ ని జయించాను” orchestrated by me shares powerful voices and 108 stories of hope and inspiration.

The reader is given a rare opportunity to join along the courageous and heartfelt journeys of so many vulnerable cancer patients as they transform into incredibly strong cancer survivors.

In this regard, we have officially launched the book on Sunday, 4th August 2019 at 11 AM at Hyder Mahal, Hotel ITC Kakatiya, Hyderabad.

Ms. Rakul Preet Singh, Cine Actress; Ms. Sangita Reddy, Executive Director, Apollo Hospitals & Mr. Venkatapathy Raju, Former Indian Cricketer joined us for this occasion and did the launch of the book.

Several Cancer survivors spoke their journey on this occasion.

ANAIKA – The Health Awareness Fashion Show On International Women’s Day

Hyderabad, International Women’s Day, March 8th, 2019 : Cure Foundation and Apollo Cancer Hospital, hosted a fashion show – ‘ANAIKA’, to create awareness on Women health & empowerment, on Friday 8th March 2019 at Taj Krishna, Hyderabad.The Fashion show had four sequences based on different themes to depict womanhood, their wellness and women empowerment.
ANAIKA means “Complete” and “Powerful.” Models depicted woman as all powerful and invincible.
Conquerors & Avengers: The women Cancer Survivors and the Cancer Specialists walked on the ramp, hand in hand to convey the message that the Cancer is curable.
Wellness had models with placards spreading the word on Cancer Prevention, with messages emphasizing on exercise, avoiding Tobacco, healthy eating habits, lifestyle modifications etc.
Women Achievers had prominent women achievers, who are role models and an inspiration to women. They walked on the ramp and were facilitated on the occasion. The participants in the round comprised of powerful women including Ms Ajita Reddy, Director, Hamstech; Ms Asmita Marwah, Fashion Designer; Ms Charulatha Acharya, w/o. Maha Vir Chakra Major Padmapani Acharya; Ms Deepika Reddy, Classical Dancer, Ms Kiran Uniyal, Martial Arts, Guinness World Record Holder; Ms Meghana Reddy, Rhythmic Gymnast; Ms Rekha Reddy, Iqebana; Ms Samantha Reddy, Entrepreneur; Ms Sangita Reddy, Jt Managing Director, Apollo Hospitals Group; Dr Shashi Reddy, Principal, OMC; Ms Shilpa Reddy, Fashion Designer, Former Mrs. India; Ms Swati Lakra, IPS, SHE teams Chief; Ms Uma Chigurupati, Marathon runner & Entrepreneur and Ms Yogita Rana, IAS.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Vijay Anand Reddy, said, women are the most important part of the family, society and the nation. They should not neglect their health. Be cautious of warning symptoms. cancer in women is highly curable, their survival from cancer is much higher than in men. He emphasised on adopting healthy lifestyle and food habits, besides undergoing regular cancer screening.

A fourteen year old brave Cancer survivor was crowned on the occasion for her indomitable spirit in combating the disease.

‎Cancer Crusaders Invitation Golf Cup, for it’s 5th edition surpassed all records by hosting a whopping 315 players. Further, for the first time, everyone enjoyed a parallel Mixed Reality Golf Championship which was more fun with fewer rules and more pun & high technology! Our host venue for three editions now – the beautiful Hyderabad Golf Club ensured the delight expected by our special invited guests was delivered without a hitch. Actress Kaajal Agarwal was the chief guest for the Pre-tournament press meet and inaugurated the tournament while taking a shot at the sport herself.

Needless to say, the most anticipated event after the competitive game-play was the Celebrity Golf Playoff along with the awards ceremony hosted by our trusted and consistent contributor Novotel HICC. Audience were enthralled when the celebrity players were asked to drive the ball into a net between marked pillars – ensuing into a competitive and greatly entertaining session. The larynx is a organ in the throat that forms your voice box. In case of laryngeal cancer, the larynx needs to be surgically removed, and this process is called Laryngectomy. Laryngectomy Club conducts monthly meetings every 2nd Saturday at Apollo Cancer Institute. The anniversary of Laryngectomy Club was conducted on 12th Jan’ 2008 with large number of patients and relatives.

On World Cancer Day, on Saturday, while many chose to highlight latest innovations and diagnostic techniques to treat the disease, some experts from the city decided to put focus on vaccines that can prevent cancers – Hepatitis B and human papillomavirus (HPV). While Hepatitis B viral infection can cause liver cancer and cirrhosis (abnormal liver condition), HPV is known to cause cervical cancer among women.Both these cancers are, however, preventable through vaccines. Yet, the cancer burden of the two diseases is huge with Hepatitis B infection showing a prevalence rate of more than 3 per cent among people.Cervical cancer, meanwhile, contributes approximately 6-29 per cent of all cancers among women.caretakers. ….

Renowned Oncologist Dr. Vijay Anand Reddy, Director and Senior Consultant at Apollo Cancer Hospital, launched his book ‘I Am a Survivor’, on 24th August, 2017 at Taj Krishna, Hyderabad. The grand event was attended by dignitaries like Ms K Kavitha, Member of Parliament, Mahesh Joshi, CEO, Apollo Homecare, Dr GN Rao, Founder & Chair, LV Prasad Eye Institute, Ms Sangita Reddy, Jt. Managing Director, Apollo Hospitals and Cricketer Mr VVS Laxman.
